Tips & Tricks: Making the Most of Your High School Senior Portrait Moments!
(07/12/2011)
How exciting is this? After all these years and so much
effort, you are finally entering your senior year of high school!
Congratulations! This is an amazing time in life where independence and
emancipation are right around the corner, and yet there’s nothing quite like
the comforts and security of home-life with your family. As you cross this
threshold into adulthood, you begin to make well-thought-out decisions founded
on research, practicality, and long-term potential. Why not use and apply those
decision-making skills to your senior portrait experience? There’s no need to
be swept up by a pre-assumed appointment with a contracted mass-market
photographer. This is about YOU, your experience, your memories. Make the right
choice in establishing your senior portraiture – and make the most of your
moments with Mitchell Photography.
Mitchell Photography is a small, family owned and operated
business in Bowling Green. This means you’ll get the personal attention and
custom-tailored experience that you deserve. We look forward to every aspect of
helping you through your senior portrait session – how to dress, what to bring,
and what to expect from start to finish. We’ll meet first for a consultation to
talk about what you expect from your experience. Next, we’ll have a blast
rockin’ your senior portrait session. Our next step is to perfect the pictures,
polishing and perfecting them for you to view. Your viewing session will be
about 1-2 weeks after your studio experience. At your viewing, you’ll see a
slide-show presentation of the images we have for you to choose from, and you’ll
have an opportunity to see all the amazing things we can do with your portraits
– including proof books, albums, storyboards blending multiple images, amazing
canvas wraps, graduation announcements, and so much more! But don’t worry – we’re
not about high-pressure sales. We’ll show you what’s available to you and YOU
pick out the prints, packages, and specialty products that fit your needs and
your budget. We can even help you establish a payment plan, or help you
discover ways to get your studio prints for FREE! Just ask us about our Senior
Ambassador Points-to-Prints Program!
We offer a wide variety of traditional AND digital
backgrounds, we choreograph unique and creative poses, and we go all out to make
sure that you look your very best. Here’s what you can do to help:
1. Bring about 4 outfits. Bring something a little more on
the formal side, such as a prom dress or a suit – especially if you don’t plan
on wearing it again after your senior year. Second, bring something classy and
conservative that parents and grandparents are sure to approve of. And then you can shed the formality and rock
a fun and festive look – and lastly, something extremely casual (save the last
one for your outdoor session!).
2. If you have a uniform, such as cheer, dance, football,
basketball, or R.O.T.C, bring that, too, along with any pieces and parts (pom
poms, football, basketball, etc.) – we’ll work ‘em in and you’ll feel more at
ease in your comfort zone.
3. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Break out the bold
jewelry, the funky hat, and all the things that make you uniquely you.
4. Ladies – make-up is good, especially if you wear it just
a little darker than normal, but be careful not to over-do, and remember, you’re
changing outfits, so neutral or “smoky” colors are going to work best. And
gentlemen – a clean shave is great, but if you prefer facial hair, make sure it’s
well groomed.
Above all, have fun! This is an incredible time in your life
- own it, make the most of it, and make memories you’ll cherish forever.
(Parents or Guardians must be present at all appointments, but you're also welcome to bring along a friend or two if you'd like.)
