STUDIO EXPERIENCEWhat to ExpectA Studio Experience at Mitchell Photography is all about you. We request a consultation prior to the Studio Experience to get a thorough understanding of what you envision for your final product. We’ll talk about the number of people in your group as well as their ages, and any special requests or custom services in which you may be interested. We also will discuss background options, posing styles, and wardrobe selections. These are important steps in designing and creating fine art photography custom tailored to your personal style and vision.
For family portraiture, we offer several break-downs during your studio experience. We do consider pets to be part of the family, so you are welcome to bring along the family pet if it is potty-trained and well behaved.
You are more than welcome to bring along an ipod or mp3 player. We have an external speaker you can plug into to listen to your favorite “mood music” during your session. You are also invited to bring along a friend or two to enjoy your studio experience with you, provided they do not serve as a distraction. All session fees are due at your consultation to confirm your photography session and are non-refundable. There is a $25.00 rescheduling fee for portrait sessions; however, special incentives are offered to anyone who keeps all appointments on time as originally scheduled.
All of our images are enhanced with touch-ups and attention to detail to compliment skin tone, eye color, and personal features. If you have a problem area or a concern regarding scars, birthmarks, bruises, or other concerns, please feel free to discuss these items with us at your consultation. We are happy to provide you with a polished final product you will be proud to display!
One week after your studio session, you’ll return for a viewing appointment. During the viewing appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to look at your portraits, which will be displayed to you in a high quality slide-show video format set to music. From that selection, you’ll choose your favorites and determine your wants needs in terms of prints, sizes and specialty products. It helps if you make a list in advance of the people to whom you intend to gift with portraits, or which walls in your home you choose to showcase your fine art pieces (you can even bring in snapshots of your walls so we can help you determine the best groupings or portrait sizes for your home).
At the time the order is placed, half of the balance is due. The remaining balance on your order is due upon delivery. You will have a scheduled delivery appointment at which time you will personally inspect every item in your order to insure your complete satisfaction.

STUDIO HOURSAlthough we do maintain a set of business hours, our studio operates by appointment only and is not limited to standard business hours. We understand that work schedules and family activities may require early morning, late evening, or weekend appointments. Please call to discuss potential appointment times for your Studio Experience. Because we are a family owned and operated small business, we prefer not to work on Sundays, but we may make exceptions when absolutely necessary. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. We are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. On Saturdays, we work by appointment only. If we will be out of the office during regularly scheduled office hours due to location sessions or travel, we will post notifications on our blog, on our Facebook page, and on our office door. STUDIO LOCATIONOur studio is currently located at 2530 Scottsville Road, Suite # 5. We're in the charming two-story Old Hickory Building, conveniently located across from Greenwood Mall , on the corner of Scottsville Road and Pedigo Way, beside Pier 1 Imports. Suite 5 is an upstairs suite, ideal for private studio sessions. The door to the upstairs suites is located between Home Lending Source and E.T.R. (Education Training Resource). Location PhotographyMitchell Photography is happy to accommodate outdoor photography sessions. At this time, Mitchell Photography does not offer its own outdoor setting, although we are currently exploring our options. In the mean time, we are happy to meet you at the location of your choice, be it a park, lake, your back yard, or other scenic location.
